Who We Are

Rare Mind and Body was founded in 2023 by psychotherapist Imagine Musaraj with a vision to create the kind of therapy space she wished more people could find—one that feels deeply human while offering thoughtful, evidence-based care.

We believe healing happens in relationship: through understanding ourselves more fully, making sense of our experiences, and creating space for change that feels sustainable rather than forced. Our approach is rooted in the idea that symptoms make sense in context and that lasting healing comes not from shame, perfection, or control, but through curiosity, connection, and compassion.

Our work is relational, trauma-informed, and aligned with principles of body trust, intuitive eating, and Health at Every Size® (HAES). We understand that struggles with food, body image, relationships, anxiety, and everyday coping are often shaped by experiences that deserve care—not criticism. Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, we support clients in exploring the underlying patterns, emotions, and protective strategies that developed to help them survive and move through the world.

We specialize in eating disorders, trauma, body image concerns, and relational healing for adolescents and adults. Our integrative approach draws from psychodynamic and relational therapy, CBT, EMDR-informed work, somatic approaches, and collaborative care. For clients navigating eating disorder recovery, we work closely with dietitians, physicians, and other providers to create comprehensive, connected support.

As we’ve grown, our goal has remained the same: to protect the heart of the practice. We’ve built Rare Mind and Body to be a place where clients feel safe enough to be honest, clinicians feel supported to do meaningful work, and healing feels approachable, individualized, and deeply respectful of each person’s story.

Because when people feel seen, understood, and supported, meaningful change becomes possible.
