ABBEY BIEHL, LLMSW, MPH
Psychotherapist
kitchen creative, often lost in a good book, and perpetually scrolling petfinder for my future dog between sessions

HER APPROACH
Abbey works with adolescents and adults navigating eating disorders, body image concerns, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, and the unique pressures that can come with being an athlete. She offers a warm, genuine space where clients can better understand themselves, reconnect with their strengths, and feel empowered to make choices that align with their values and who they are.
Abbey earned her Master’s in Social Work and Master of Public Health from the University of Georgia, as well as her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Before becoming a psychotherapist, she worked at Eating Recovery Center and Equip Health, experiences that deepened her passion for eating disorder treatment and supporting individuals and families through recovery.
Her work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also integrates Family-Based Treatment (FBT), or the Maudsley Method, into her practice. Abbey believes therapy should be a space where clients feel genuinely seen, understood, and accepted without judgment. She meets each client with curiosity and compassion, tailoring her approach to help them build greater self-awareness, trust themselves, and move toward a life that feels authentic and meaningful.
OUTSIDE THE THERAPY ROOM
Abbey enjoys exploring her creative side, whether experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen or dabbling in new crafts, like floristry and stationary. She figure skated for 20 years and loves how the sport combines athleticism and artistry. She also appreciates spending quality time with friends and family whenever she can.
