Our Approach
At Rare Mind and Body, therapy is thoughtful, relational, and tailored to the whole person. Our work blends evidence-based and insight-oriented approaches to support healing that feels both practical and deeply personal.
We specialize in eating disorders, trauma, body image concerns, and emotional wellness for teens and adults throughout Michigan.
HOW WE APPROACH HEALING
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. We believe meaningful change happens when therapy considers emotional experiences, nervous system responses, relationships, identity, and the connection between mind and body.
Our work is collaborative and individualized—supporting clients with curiosity, compassion, and care at a pace that feels sustainable.
Psychodynamic and insight-oriented therapy explores how past experiences, relationships, attachment patterns, and unconscious beliefs shape present emotions, coping patterns, and self-perception.
Our work may also incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed concepts to help clients better understand and relate to different emotional “parts” of themselves with greater compassion and curiosity.
Insight-Oriented & Relational Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and coping behaviors that contribute to distress. Our work focuses on building greater awareness, flexibility, and practical tools while supporting meaningful, lasting change with compassion and curiosity.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Somatic and trauma-focused therapy supports healing through both top-down and bottom-up approaches—working with thoughts, emotions, nervous system responses, and body-based experiences together.
Our work may integrate EMDR Therapy and somatic techniques to help process trauma, reduce emotional overwhelm, and support greater regulation, safety, and connection within the body.
