Our Approach

At Rare Mind and Body, therapy is relational, intentional, and tailored to the whole person. We take a trauma-informed, integrative approach that supports both insight and meaningful change, helping healing feel accessible, grounded, and sustainable.

HOW WE APPROACH HEALING

Healing is not one-size-fits-all. We believe meaningful change happens when therapy considers emotional experiences, nervous system responses, relationships, identity, and the mind-body connection. Our work is collaborative and individualized, supporting clients with curiosity, compassion, and care at a pace that feels safe, grounded, and sustainable.

We prioritize insight-oriented and relational work in our approach to therapy. Drawing from psychodynamic theory, we explore how past experiences, relationships, attachment patterns, and unconscious beliefs shape present emotions, coping patterns, and self-perception. We also incorporate parts-work and Internal Family Systems (IFS) concepts to help clients understand and relate to different emotional “parts” of themselves with curiosity and compassion.

Insight-Oriented & Relational Therapy

insight oriented and relational

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, beliefs, emotional responses, and coping behaviors that contribute to distress. This work builds awareness, flexibility, and practical tools to support meaningful, lasting change with compassion and curiosity.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

health at every size

Somatic and body-based therapy supports healing through both top-down and bottom-up approaches—working with thoughts, emotions, nervous system responses, and body-based experiences together. Our work may integrate EMDR therapy and somatic techniques to help process trauma, reduce emotional overwhelm, and support greater regulation, safety, and connection within the body.
